Is there a decision to serve?
Named buyer, decision-maker, product specification, quantity or credible range, timing, economics and decision process.
Public methodology
Provenance starts with a buyer requirement, tests current capabilities against mandatory criteria, labels the evidence and gaps, and controls disclosure before any protected introduction.
For licensed and otherwise authorized commercial operators. Not for patients or consumers. A screen is not product, quality, legal or regulatory approval.
Five gates
Named buyer, decision-maker, product specification, quantity or credible range, timing, economics and decision process.
Destination, importer, manufacturing/processing, testing, permits and any certification or release roles—each tied to a real party and current evidence.
Lot ID, quantity, dates, linked evidence, price basis, validity and decisive unknowns remain distinct from forecasts and catalogues.
Same currency, unit, delivery stage and named place; included costs, unknowns, timing, MOQ and terms shown separately.
Correct entities, relationship source, fee basis, payer, term, protected parties and permission are recorded before identity or restricted evidence moves.
Provenance remains a non-custodial commercial originator. Licensed parties import, manufacture, test, certify, release, contract and transact directly.
Illustrative output
Every fact below is fictional and intentionally non-identifying. The example demonstrates format only.
| Candidate | Observed fit | Evidence state | Screen result |
|---|---|---|---|
| SYN-A | Illustrative cannabinoid/treatment/quantity fit | GACP document reviewed; potency and unallocated kg counterparty-stated; route and comparable delivered cost unknown | Possible — evidence needed |
| SYN-B | Treatment conflicts with mandatory non-irradiated requirement | Illustrative lot record otherwise complete | Exclude |
| SYN-C | General capability could fit, but no current lot or linked testing | Capability only; availability unknown | Not executable |
Synthetic example. Not live inventory, a client result or regulatory approval. Codes SYN-A, SYN-B and SYN-C do not correspond to real suppliers. The next decision in this example would be to obtain current lot-linked evidence and a defined downstream cost/route for SYN-A before any identity disclosure.
Evidence-state key
| Label | Meaning | Limit |
|---|---|---|
| Registry checked | A named public registry record was reviewed on a stated date. | Does not prove product fit, capacity, permission outside recorded scope or current transaction acceptance. |
| Document reviewed | A specified document was inspected and its source/date/scope recorded. | Does not mean Provenance issued or independently certified it. |
| Counterparty stated | The attributed party supplied the information. | Not converted into independently verified fact. |
| Inferred | A working interpretation drawn from available evidence. | Never treated as an authority, QP, buyer or supplier decision. |
| Unknown | The material fact has not been established. | Cannot become a pass through expectation or sales language. |
| Expired / stale | The document, quote or availability is outside its validity or useful freshness. | Cannot support a current recommendation until refreshed. |
Controlled disclosure
Internal coded comparison. No external supplier identity, unique facility fact or restricted document.
Non-identifying, non-unique information for a credible buyer/route, subject to permission.
Only after applicable protection, permission and metadata/redaction review. A coded document may still identify a supplier.
Only after the relevant relationship, commercial, route and explicit release gates are satisfied.
Confidentiality is not fee protection. An NDA may govern confidentiality, but the commercial relationship, payer, fee base, trigger, term, protected parties and exceptions must be addressed separately before an introduction.
Buyer output
The source-backed requirement, mandatory criteria, allowed flexibility and date.
Why each passes, fails or remains unknown, with source and availability dates.
Equivalent delivery stage, inclusions, unpriced items and exchange-rate source/date where used.
The smallest set of facts needed to decide whether further diligence is justified.
What can be shared, what remains controlled and which protection or permission is missing.
The buyer, supplier or Provenance owner and the next update date—rather than a vague follow-up.
Method sources
Method limit: the screen organizes commercial and evidence questions. It does not replace the buyer's, supplier's, importer's, manufacturer's, laboratory's, QP's, legal counsel's or authority's decision.
Use the method
The free first screen returns a credible fit worth diligence, the missing information needed to decide, or a no-fit answer.
